Career Center Services for Alumni

Welcome to the Career Center at Boise State University. As an alumnus of Boise State University, you have life-long access to the Career Center. Our staff of professionals are here to assist you with your plans to start, transition, or enhance your career.

All Boise State University graduates can access any Career Center service at no cost for approximately six months following their graduation.

  •  Spring and Summer Graduates will have free access to the Career Center through December 31 of the year that they graduate.
  •  Winter Graduates will have free access to the Career Center through June 30th of the year following their graduation.

** Only graduates of Boise State University are eligible to participate in the Career Center Services for Alumni program. Members of the Boise State University Alumni Association must present their membership card at time of appointment in order to receive the discount. If an Alumni Association card is not presented, the general alumni rate will be charged or the appointment can be rescheduled.

Appointments must be scheduled in advance. Please call (208) 426-1747 to schedule an appointment. Payment for services is due at the time of the appointment. The Career Center can accept cash, personal checks, or credit cards. Receipts can be provided.

Service/Program Information

Access to BroncoJobs: BroncoJobs is an online database for Boise State students and alumni. Employers list jobs (full-time, part-time, seasonal, on-campus, off-campus) and internships. Thousands of employers have registered and hundreds of opportunities are available 24/7.  Learn more and register for BroncoJobs at

Resource Room: The Boise State University Career Center resource room is available to students and graduates of Boise State University to search for career information and job opportunities.  The resource room contains materials – Books, CDs, Directories, Graduate School Information, Magazines, and Videos – useful for both career exploration and job search.  In addition we have On-line “handouts” for Job-Search Topics available on the web.

Walk-In Resume Appointments:  Does your resume pass the 30-second test? Drop by the Career Center during our walk-in hours for a 15-minute resume critique or to get a quick job search question answered.  First-come, first-served.  If you need additional help, schedule an appointment to meet with us!  Only during fall and spring semesters.

Career Counseling Appointment: Career planning generally involves getting to know who you are, what you want, and how to get there.  Keep in mind that career planning is a continuous process that allows you to move from one stage to another stage as your life changes.  You may even find yourself going back to look at who you are again after exploring how to get there.  Learning to negotiate the career planning process now is essential, considering most people will change careers several times in a lifetime. Career Assessment Appointment:  Career assessments are available to help individuals choose college majors and develop career plans. Students and alumni are eligible to use them to facilitate their career decision making in cooperation with and at the discretion of a career counselor.An appointment with a career counselor is necessary prior to career assessment use.  The Boise State Career Center offers the following Career Assessments: Sigi 3, MBTI, and the Strong Interest Inventory. Resume/Cover Letter Appointment: Individual assistance with resumes, cover letters, or job applications is available from the experienced staff of the Career Center. Additional information regarding Resumes and Cover Letters can be found at

Practice Interviewing Appointment: Experience a simulated interview and practice your interviewing skills. Additional information regarding Practice Interviews can be found at

LinkedIn, Social Media, Branding and Networking Appointment: Getting a job these days is not easy. It usually requires having a strong network of people in your field who want to help you, as well as being one of the strongest candidates in your field… and those things are not going to happen overnight. On average, it’s taking college grads 6-9 months to get hired. Additional information  can be found at

 Access to On Campus Recruiting: On-campus interviews are scheduled through BroncoJobs, our on-line job-referral and on-campus-recruiting system.  To register for access to BroncoJobs or if you are already registered and wish to apply go to BroncoJobs.
