TYPES OF RESUMES

 I.      CHRONOLOGICAL RESUME

The chronological format is the most common resume format used.  This format lists items in reverse order, starting with the most recent.  This may include your schooling or most recent work experience.  Generally, those who have recently graduated from college and do not have a long work history will want to list their education first.

II.       FUNCTIONAL RESUME

The functional resume format is the least common for recent college graduates but can be useful for people with long gaps between work experience or who want to de-emphasize certain work experiences.  This format focuses on the individual’s skills and talents instead of job titles.

III.     CHRONO-FUNCTIONAL RESUME

The chrono-functional style is a combination of the chronological and functional resumes.  This format lists work experience by title and company but focuses on the experiences that are most relevant to the position for which you are applying.  This is a good choice for recent college graduates.
